The Our Days Festival in La Center was a resounding success 
and we are happy to announce that the La Center Float took 
the Our Days Committee Award!

Special Thanks to Karen Dodds and all of the hard-working 
individuals who headed up committees to put this all 
together! 
As part of the “Summer Parade Season”, the La Center Float 
also took part in the Ridgefield Fourth of July Parade, 
Amboy’s Territorial Days Parade, and Battle Ground’s 
Harvest Days Parade. Special Thanks to Linda Tracy and the 
City of La Center for all of the tireless hours of 
decorating, transport, and of course, chaperoning the Miss 
Teen La Center Court. 
 
Speaking of Miss Teen La Center, we are happy to announce 
that the 2007 court was chosen on July 14th at La Center 
High School and our new Queen is Roxsan Gregg!

TDS is sponsoring a Blood Drive Scheduled for Thursday 
August 16th from 1 - 6 pm at the TDS Training room, 200 
East 4th. This drive is in response to the Urgent Need 
for Summer Donors, to help because our local area blood 
supplies very low right now. All those who can donate are 
encouraged to contact Liz Cerveny at 263-1154 to schedule 
their appointment.  
 
The Trellis is having an Art Show featuring Pacific 
Northwest Artists on August 9th from 6-9pm. 
Vivian Mosby of Mosby Insurance would love to see a great 
turnout at the FREE “Hot Summer Nights on the Plaza” Music 
Festival on Friday, August 3rd in Woodland, sponsored by 
the Downtown Revitalization Committee. The Dukes of Juke 
will be entertaining us with oldies but goodies. 
 
Bank of Clark County is a major sponsor of the “Beaches 
Summertime Cruisin’” event, which takes place every 
Wednesday thru September 19 (unless raining!) at P.I.R. at 
Delta Park. It’s a fun family time with classic and custom 
cars and bikes, local bands, an old fashioned BBQ, drag 
racing, raffle prizes, and more! Let Joan Cooper know if 
you need tickets. 100% of proceeds go to help local 
children in need. 
 
COUNTRY Insurance & Financial Services Agent, Denise 
Koopman of Ridgefield will exhibit a booth at the 3rd 
annual “National Night Out” event hosted by the City of 
Ridgefield on Tuesday, August 7th in Davis Park, 
Ridgefield. She will offer home safety information, 
children’s ID kits, and have a prize wheel for prizes 
between the times of 6pm to 8pm.

Lelooska Foundation & Cultural Center is having a work 
party on Saturday, August 4th from 9:00am until 1:00 pm.  
Please join them and help clean up the grounds and finish 
up some projects at the Cultural Center! Lunch will be 
served and they ask that everyone bring a pair of work 
gloves. Anyone can help; bring your family, organization, 
or just yourself! If you think you can come, give them a

The meeting spot will be at the Cultural Center located at 
165 Merwin Village Road in Ariel. 
 
The La Center Education Foundation Stadium Group would like 
to invite Chamber Members, their clients, friends, and 
family to participate in the 2nd Annual LCEF Golf 
Tournament at the Lewis River Golf Course on Tuesday, 
August 14th. Contact Todd Snider, Tournament Director 
[263-2261] to make your reservation ASAP!  
 
The La Center Museum Association is trying to increase 
membership and they have forms to join at TDS Telecom, 
First Independent Bank, and La Center City Hall. Their 
next meeting is August 6th at TDS. 
 
Pomeroy Farm’s 12th Annual Quilt Festival is taking place 
on August 4th and 5th. From the barn to the log house, 
from the garden to the blacksmith shop, a myriad of quilts 
will be hung for all to enjoy. Quilt shops and other 
vendors will be there to sell their wares. Hayrides will 
be available for a small fee, and an antique farm machinery 
demonstration promises something for everyone. Admission 
fees are $5 for adults, $3 for children 3-11. Hours are: 
Saturday 10am to 5pm and Sunday 1 to 5pm. Call 686-3537 
for information on entering a quilt in the quilt show.
