Leap for Joy! Leap Year is Here!
This year is leap year with 29 days in February. This
means that each of us has an extra 24 hours or 1440 minutes
this month. Why an extra day? Our year is measured by how
long it takes the earth to go around the sun. It doesn’t
take 365 days….it’s actually 365 days, 5 hours, 48 minutes
and 46 seconds. So, every four years we effectively lose a
day. To prevent drift in our calendar, we adjust the
four-year period to be 4161 days. How do you plan to spend
your bonus time?

Clark County Fire Department, District 11 to Visit Chamber
Please join us on February 6th at our regular noon meeting
where Dennis Mason, Fire Chief from District 11 will be
speaking about upcoming changes in local fire protection.

Singing Valentines
Don’t forget your sweet [or not so sweet] heart this year.
Our Chamber is offering Singing Valentines accompanied by a
rose and chocolate for only $45. Order yours now by
calling Linda Tracy at 989-6301. This is a fundraiser for
our Chamber and we need your support!

Besides Valentines Day, there is another big holiday in
February: Presidents Day, celebrated on the 18th this
year.

Random Acts of Kindness Week is February 11-17
Random Acts of Kindness Foundation “inspires people to
practice kindness and to “pass it on” to others. They
provide free educational and community ideas, guidance, and
other resources to kindness participants through their
website at www.actsofkindness.org.

The level of our success is limited only by our imagination
and no act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted.
–Aesop

bank, 2. Bring flowers to work and share with coworkers, 3.

more on that later.
