A Look on the Bright Side: Real Estate News from Keller Williams
The home sales market in our area is pretty tough right now with so many short sales and foreclosed properties increasing our inventory. And as you know, when inventory goes up, prices go down. But if you're brave enough to stray from the herd, you might be in for the home-buying opportunity of a lifetime.
As of last week, it was confirmed that first time homebuyers [anyone who has not owned a principal residence for three years] are eligible for up to an $8,000 Federal Income Tax credit that does not have to be repaid!
According to a report by Moody's Economy, the continual drop of housing prices is expected to end in 2009 but not before home prices slide a little more. The bright side is that the "housing correction" is in sight and may, in fact, close in faster with the help of the economic stimulus package and the First-Time Home Buyer incentive.
